Recruiting Extraordinary People for a Sustainable Urban Eco-Community

Take part in an ADVENTURE of building a sustainable urban mini-eco community. If you are an intrepid soul with a purpose larger than your life at the moment … perhaps this is the springboard you have been hoping  would come to your life. If it resonates with you, don’t second-guess it!

I am offering a beautiful harmonious venue for people of like mind to live and work together to demonstrate how living a green and eventually sustainable lifestyle can be accomplished in an old house within city limits not designed to have a low carbon footprint. The house and grounds with it’s unique amenities and qualities is an ideal place to develop an eco/organic/alternative health/fitness/spiritual business incubator for  participants to monetize in partnership with me and one another.

It is a beautiful, elegant old house in a popular eclectic gentrified old neighborhood in lush and temperate Birmingham, Alabama. The house has 5 bedrooms, 5 baths, has two fireplaces, hardwood floors, 2 claw foot tubs, 4 showers, a huge well-equipped kitchen, two refrigerators, a free-weight gym, a great workshop, and organic garden in progress and much more. The neighborhood is quiet and beautiful and the backyard is adjacent to a park.

Participants living on-site or near-by would video and write about their projects, ideas and simple tips for conserving, as well as tying in the new paradigm/spiritual components of manifesting, positive thinking and that we are all one and need to work together that I have been writing about for so many years on my website … a voice crying in the wilderness.

I looking for entrepreneurial people with impetus and ideas who are enthusiastic about conceiving of and joining in the projects both with good old fashioned hard work, digging in the dirt, online/social media/website/writing/videoing/editing/fundraising, ad infinitum … as well as a proportionate financial contribution. There is unlimited scope for creativity for POSITIVE, motivated, reliable and creative people.

With the right people to run it, the health/fitness retreat could be re-established. If you come with some experience in one or more holistic modalities, I am willing to teach/train. Investigate my background you will discover this is a unique educational opportunity.

I am certified in Living Foods Lifestyle and for many years hosted a weekly Organic Raw Food Supper Club that had a loyal following! I would love to resurrect it at least on a monthly basis. We are in the process of doing a large organic garden expansion which includes a plan to build a 30 foot high pyramid greenhouse this summer.

Email and tell me about you and what you feel you have to bring to such a community as this. Please include your FaceBook page, LinkedIn or website. If I get a sense that it could be a fit for both of us and you are serious about pursuing a place in this adventure, we can set up a time to talk.

Take the Tour of the house and also check out the Hummingbird Magnet Tropical Paradise Tiki Hut.

This was a solo project I did with certain perameters. First, I wanted to use as much material I already had as possible and spend the least on new material. Second, it is essentially a tent, so I didn’t want to overbuild. My design was to create a mechanism of support that didn’t require heavy lumber. Third, I wanted to have total privacy from the street side without cutting off my view of the street or the breeze. Fourth, I wanted it to be completely dry so I could leave the rug down even in a tempest. And speaking of a tempest … the most important structural objective was to be impervious to high winds … short of hurrican-ish winds that I use my mental intentions to prevent as I have lost homes already to hurricanes. Then I wanted a slightly sheltered place for my Kalanchoes so they would not burn in the direct sunlight. But I wanted it to still be light so I used a heavy mil cream-colored tarp. This is the third generation. I did it right this time. It temporizes the passive solar heat of direct sunlight on the side of my house, making it possible to run the AC nearly not at all, which is wonderful as I can’t stand to be closed up winter or summer! I’ll stay out on the deck to 40 degrees at night. Best of all, this space in my house is positioned on a ley line and the energy here is irresistible. Just inside you will see my bedroom where I have a pyramid over my bed. Yeah … my interests are a bit esoteric.

A New Website For New Paradigm Thinkers!

To alleviate the overwhelm of the vastness of The Global Rowing Club website and the wide spectrum of information presented here, we are finally caving-in to the repeated suggestion that the information be sectored into several websites to target specific interests.

So, if you’ve clicked on a link from Google search results only to find some posts and pages missing, it’s because they’ve been moved to another website for Jenifer’s personal writings and videos having to do with New Paradigm thinking. It is a site that will be expanded to include many more features. It is a crowdfunding site like this one that is still a part of The Global Rowing Cub.

Please visit the new website/blog, leave comments, send the link to everyone you know who would be interested and please support this important mission.

Local Rowing or Global Rowing?

I haven’t written at all about sculling lately. There’s been nothing to write. I haven’t been out on my boat in a very long time. This is ok, I decided … after having too much angst about it for too long. I had to decide there was a reason beyond my wisdom to STOP me from pushing myself so hard physically for a season after too much injury.

Of course, I could blame it on treading in water instead of sculling on water (too much work and no play) and being fed a rich diet by a very good cook (my Venezuelan assistant who did not agree with my views on carbohydrates), but in the end, something just had to give — and for a while, it was my training.

I am supposed to be a health and fitness expert, which was great while I ran a retreat. Having all the time to do what it took to be healthy and fit then was easy. It was my “job.” I was simply monetizing my lifestyle by letting other people do it with me and pay me for it.  It’s a bit more inconvenient as you all know when you have to fit it in around doing things to pay the bills that have nothing to do with preparing organic raw food, working out, doing sports and spa treatments all day long. That’s why I decided to turn my big house again into an “eco-community.” First to surround myself again with people who want to live the way I want to live and to have trustworthy people in the house to take care of it while I travel. And it looks like I’ll be doing a lot of that soon.

I have also been taking the time again to do for myself what I know I need to do to restore my adrenals, cleanse toxins (all you have to do in this world to be toxic is breathe) from my body, AND drop a few of those carbo-pounds that have turned me into a lightweight instead of a flyweight. My wonderful MAAS Flyweight rowing shell has a low weight-limit that I am slightly exceeding at the moment.  😦

There, I’ve admitted it.

But all is well and I am still strong and fit. The important thing is that I am healthier now that I have taken a break. I am completely injury free, my joints and adrenals are happy and I am ready to build up my training again wisely and gradually — while eating the healthy organic high percentage raw and low percentage carb diet my body wants.

Meanwhile the bread-pastry-cheese-rice-pasta-ice-cream nazi Trina (she did love sprouting though … and I do take responsibility for eating what she put in front of me) is cooking fattening arepas for her mother now in Valencia, Venezuela and taking care of her after several surgeries. Soon, in advance of my arrival to Caracas, she will be testifying about my medical invention before the Ministerio of her country. She is quite familiar with my device (that she misses sooooo much being able to use since she had to leave the USA because her visa ran out) that the government of her homeland began to pursue last summer through a former colleague of hers who is high up in the current administration.

I say my arrival … it has to do with whether they invite me. They want the device, yes, but we will have to come to terms. My caveat is that it not be distributed solely in A L B A Countries, but in First World Countries too. That’s a bit sticky with the political climate between Venezuela and the US at the moment, but people need it everywhere. It’s a latin telanovela. There is nothing boring about my life!

Tune in next week to see if the much maligned, misunderstood and now mysteriously ill leader of the richest country in America’s Backyard will ever forgive the ALL POWERFUL First World Country of the Americas that is still giving his best friend’s island the Cold Shoulder long past the Cold War and just get OVER all those assassination attempts by the all-pervasive intelligence agency whose name see I aaain’t gonna mention, that may well have it’s roots in the dark past of the Es Es.

¿Y quien es el padre de Elena en la verdad? ¿Miguel? ¿Guillermo? ¿Louis?

Even more mysterious is how have I been writing all those long emails in Spanish to my Power of Attorney (El Chino) in Venezuela and understanding the emails he is writing to me. Do I have a Spanish Angel? Well soon I will have an “in-house” Spanish translator/angel visiting this week (perfect timing Universe! Thank you!) named Juan Torres. As Trina always said, my Spanish is good enough that I wouldn’t starve, but I’m not ready to go have in-depth conversations about manufacturing and technical things in Spanish when I barely know the words in English. I joke (but it’s TRUE) that when I began the process of prototyping my medical device, the only technical works I knew to google to find the components I needed were do-hickie and thinga-ma-giggy! I know more now, but I had to put myself through my own personal “engineering school” the hard way.

Juan will be here just in time to be by my side for some Skype conference calls coming up as momentum is building in the matter of manufacturing my medical device in Latin America. There are other opportunities coming at me from several directions spanning many of my projects and inventions so I will be listening closely as I am still in Quantum Superposition — as to which position to snap into next. But just so you know, I AM UNLIMITED, all is easy, and I intend to do it ALL. I’ll be making some big decisions soon. But I’m completely calm about it since all I have to do is listen. ¡Todo es fácil!

So will I be Local Rowing or Global Rowing in the next few months?

I am fully prepared and ready to go for both!  Either way it’s adventure … so if you’re also ready and feel CALLED to a life of magic and miracles and FUN, then join me!!

Get on board!

Commit to Cruise the Caribbean!

How’s this for committing? Two recent Global Rowing Club joiners: Dr. Butch and Andrea, have invited me as part of their contribution — to transform their 9 day cruise on a 43 foot sailing yacht into the first Official Global Rowing Club FreeWill Cruise of the British Virgin Islands.

We are starting out from Tortola where, interestingly, I made friends with several lovely woman from there in 2000 while I was a guest practitioner at the Anne Wigmore Institute in Puerto Rico for a few months. I promised them one day I would  visit and now I will keep that promise!!

I’ll also come in handy for Dr. (Captain) Butch. Their plans were about to change when someone cancelled going. They were going to have to downsize to a smaller boat he could sail without experienced help. He needs an experienced first mate for a boat this size. And, yes, I have the “sailing gene”. I grew up spending my summers at our family beach house in Annapolis in Maryland, perhaps the sailing capital of the world! I’ve been fortunate to have opportunities to sail many wonderful places. I was on a racing team on the Tennessee River in Chattanooga, I’ve sailed off of Costa Rica on the Pacific, I’ve sailed on the Valdez Arm on Prince William Sound in Valdez, Alaska, I’ve sailed a few times in Nashville … but most of my sailing has been extreme and thrilling catamaran sailing on the Gulf of Mexico and on the largest and most beautiful Bay in the word: The Chesapeake Bay!! This will be my first time on the Caribbean. Sailing is a passion for me and to combine it with a 9 day cruise with people who are COMMITTED to ACTIVELY be a part of The Global Rowing Club Campaign to save the world — is a spectacular gift and a dream come true!!! The Universe notices right away when you COMMIT 100%!

I want to also give credit to a several other GRC members who are contributing Sky Miles for the flight, spending money as well as house and Hannah sitting while I am away. Everything has come together to make this happen in less than 24 hours as if it had been planned for months. Actually, it feels like we planned it a long time ago (there’s that space and time conundrum again) and are just now remembering. We leave in less than 30 hours.

Guess what? I’m ready.

What makes it even better is the last thing Dr. (Captain) Butch said tonight after he went over the chart to give me an overview of  how we will traverse the Islands and what activities he has already mapped out as a seasoned Caribbean sailor … was “You’ve saved our trip!” That’s an especially wonderful thing to say when it’s a gift!  So in addition to enjoying great company while visiting spectacular destinations, we will be on a Treasure Hunt to find out how and with whom The Global Rowing Club is meant to offer ways to substantially make a difference in the world by partnering with like-minded people in the British Virgin Islands. Let’s see what magic and miracles await us as we voyage on our Ship of Dreams.

Everyone feel free to hop on board. We’re about to set sail!

Climate Change and Sculling Challenge

I have to confess I am getting frustrated. I did better getting out to row all winter long in frigid temperatures than I am doing now that it is summer. There have been precious few days in the forecast that have not threatened thunderstorms. There were two days that were clear since Trina and I returned from over two weeks (of no rowing) in Maryland May 28th exhausted and depleted from the madness of the trip, but the wind was up to 14 mph. No thanks. Then there were two perfect days about two weeks ago but urgent matters prevented me from taking advantage of them. Mala suerte (I speak Spanish a lot more these days.)  Last Friday I did 36 miles dodging the ominous clouds and threatening rumbles of thunder. But that was on a small lake and I was always within a 30 minute row to get back to the launch dock if things got crazy.

My situation is a little different from the rest of the rowing world. Normal rowers and scullers can get out to row in the morning when it is clear and be off the water by the time the storms usually start. The reason that doesn’t work for me is when I get in my boat, it’s not for an hour or two … it’s for 5 to 10 hours non-stop. That’s why I am being thwarted. Most of the nights after sunset have been clear and I don’t mind getting started late and rowing all night, but I can’t get in either of these lakes after dark because the ingress is closed until dawn. So what’s a girl to do?

I’m all set to go back out to Inland Lake so I won’t have to do a zillion laps at Lake Purdy, but a thirty minute drive to gamble on dodging storms on a much larger lake where I could get caught an hour and a half away from the launch area — is too much of a risk — especially when I am in the middle of so much going on here. If I worked as much as I check the weather I would be much more productive.

I don’t remember it ever being like this. Maybe I wasn’t paying such close attention before … or maybe the climate is changing. That’s one of the things I want to get around to fixing. But for now, all I know is this weather is taking a CHUNK out of my rowing. And even worse, I barely have a tan and I can’t keep the cushions out on my deck furniture.

Looks Like I will be rowing on Monday.

The Adventures of New Paradigm Thinkers and Doers

As I have mentioned before, this is a new club, blog and website. I have been carefully considering my content and intent before taking the plunge to officially put it “out there.” There will soon be a page on the menu bar titled GRC Mission that will give an overview of exactly what it is I am hoping to accomplish and how exactly I plan to do it.

I am a detail-oriented person, while at the same time my view is a vast vista that makes the phrase “seeing the big picture” seem like peering through a porthole. If you want to hear an elevator speech summarizing what I am doing, you better pick an extremely tall building.

But just to start with … why such a broad spectrum of topics and goals all on one website? Well, simply put: it is just the tip of the ice burg of who I am and my mission for being on this planet I have come to love so! There is a lot here about what I am doing anyway as I “follow my bliss.” It is a wonderful thing to monetize life-style … something I was very successful at doing as a health-retreat owner. It’s so much better than working. Doing what I love to do, living the way I want to live and sharing it with other people has yielded the feed-back more times than I can count: “You’ve saved my life.”

So in a way, the Mission of The Global Rowing Club can be summed up by saying it is a way I can can share on a very large scale. It is a way I can give people the opportunity to join me to do with me what I would be doing anyway … so they can learn to save their own lives and help other people do the same.

Does that sound dramatic and over-stated to you? DO NOT underestimate the power of self-esteem and the personal fulfillment that comes from living a life of purpose. Not only does it make life worth living for the people who find a way to discover and create it for themselves — but it is contagious!

A CLUB THAT’S A HUB

I have founded The Global Rowing Club to be a hub for people all over the world to join together to become the relentless force that will be the salvation of our planet at the 11th hour. We already all belong to this club. My intention is to create an identifiable venue that we can all share no matter where we are in the world to inspire, collect and harness the power that is within us all to change the world. There will be a day when we will raise our glasses to toast restored oceans, fresh drinking water for the children in third world countries, changed lives everywhere, renewed hope and a bright future for everyone in a Healing World.

A “VARIETY” WEBSITE

Think of this as a “variety” website that will take you all over the place — but always going in the direction of renewing energy … yours, mine and the world’s! If you take the time to absorb the multi-media material on this site, you will begin to understand the method of my madness. Everything is connected in a fascinating, fun and profound way. It is not boring. It is all about energy. There is NOTHING that is not energy. Decide to harness it and learn to master it — in yourself and for the planet. That’s what this website is about. That is what we all are about.

I want to have fun, to entertain you, to inform you, to reach you and to inspire you — because you have stumbled upon The Global Rowing Club for a reason that is personal and important to you.

Dare to be a visionary. Dare to join me and many other New Paradigm Thinkers and Doers in this adventure. There’s room for everyone in this boat!

And for your entertainment, although I am new (naive and inexperienced) to making “movies,” I will punctuate my narrative occasionally with amateurish, amusing and often-times philosophical “Sofa Movies.” There may be as many hidden messages in my little creations as in DaVinci’s Last Supper. Are you a student of nuance? If so … you may be in peril of getting sucked into another dimension.

Why not take the Red Pill? Go Down the Rabbit Hole. Come with me to Wonderland!

SOFA MOVIES ARE BORN

I’ve got a little something new. Come with me and you will too. 🙂
